What is a CBCT?
CBCT (“Cone Beam Computer Tomography”) is a specialised X-Ray used to produce detailed 3D images of teeth, bone & nerve pathways. It differs from traditional 2D dental X-Rays, as CBCT provides detail in all three dimensions
When would one be taken?
Unlike traditional 2D dental X-Rays, CBCT provides comprehensive views from multiple angles. This technology aids in precise diagnosis and treatment planning for more in depth dental procedures, including implant placement, orthodontic treatment and root canal treatment. By offering detailed anatomical information, CBCT enhances information available to both you & your dentist, improves treatment accuracy, reduces procedural risks, and improves patient outcomes.
