Originally from Nottingham, Emily qualified from Newcastle University in 2014, with a Merit in Clinical Dentistry. Since then, she has worked in a variety of NHS and Private Dental Practices, including in Nottingham, Lincolnshire & the East Riding. Emily enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but is particularly fond of treating younger patients and helping them to improve their oral health whilst also making dental visits fun and engaging.

Emily completed her postgraduate training in Implants at Tipton Training in Manchester in 2023, and is able to help patients fill gaps in their smiles using the Dentsply Sirona Astra EV implant system. She has also undertaken training in the use of our CBCT machine and how to interpret the resulting images, allowing more accurate treatment planning of implant cases. Emily is always looking to complete further training to allow her to provide more complex treatments, and to ensure she is up to date with the latest dental developments to provide patients with the best dental care.

Emily is recently trained in facial aesthetics and enjoys helping patients improve their confidence with targeted skin treatments. She offers skin consultations to tailor treatment to your needs.

When she is not busy in the Practice, Emily is found hiking in the Peak district with her partner, Oliver, or spending time with friends and family. Emily is a keen cook, avid wine taster and mum to her two cats, Otis and Pedro.

Oliver trained at the University of Sheffield, qualifying in 2014. He has previously worked in Leeds, Lincolnshire and Sheffield before he moved to the Peak District in 2021 and became the proud owner of Lightwood Dental Care. Further studies include post graduate certificates in restorative dentistry as well as dental law & ethics. Alongside working at Lightwood Dental Care, Oliver also works part-time as a Dento-Legal Adviser with a Dental Indemnity Provider, supporting and advising other dentists in legal matters that can result from treating patients.

Having worked alongside an orthodontic specialist in Sheffield & Lincolnshire, Oliver has a particular interest in adult orthodontics and provides clear aligners to help patients straighten their teeth and get the smile they have always wanted.

Oliver has also completed postgraduate training in Restorative dentistry in 2023 with Tipton Training in Manchester.

Alongside walking with his partner, Emily, he enjoys culinary experiences in the Peak District & has also recently started lessons in golf.

Oliver is available for appointments on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

Katherine grew up in Edinburgh and qualified from the University of Manchester in 2007. Since then she has worked in Manchester, New Zealand, Salford and Stockport before joining Lightwood in 2023.

Katherine really enjoys the varied day-to-day life of general dental practice. To be able to provide the best dental care for her patients, she likes to regularly attend courses and undertake further training. Katherine is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and has achieved a postgraduate diploma in restorative dentistry from the University of Chester. She also has a qualification in clinical teaching which she has used to supervise and mentor several newly qualified dentists to help support them at the start of their careers.

Outside of dentistry, Katherine enjoys playing and watching sport, eating great food and spending time with her two young children.

Katherine is available for appointments on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
